Jess + Nate | Stuart Surprise Proposal
I consider it a privilege and honor to be asked to capture so many amazing moments, and this one was pretty special. So, here is the back story about these two. Their families are close friends, so they have known each other for………well, a long time. When Nathan was about 13 he proposed for the first time. They were at a Chick-fil-A after youth group. He masterfully constructed a ring out of a straw wrapper. He went on to propose around another half a dozen times, utilizing his McGuyver skills to craft rings out of wires, rocks and such. (I am not really sure what each was made from, but she just happened to keep them all;) It was their ‘thing.’
The 6th time was the charm?
Their friendship grew over the years, even after he moved many states away. And the rest is history. God definitely had a plan for them. Jess + Nate really are perfect for each other, much like peanut butter and jelly. Or, better yet, coffee and cream!!
They take turns going to see each other. It was his turn to come to Florida. He devised a well laid plan. It was her birthday weekend, so he took her on a picnic. I was to lay in wait close by, ready to capture ‘THE MOMENT.” I have to say, I felt a little weird. I was quite far away, so I could kinda see, but certainly not hear anything.
I have to give him credit. This was a perfect way to have a private and ever so sweet moment between the two of them, yet be able to share it with their family and friends. I love this girl and her family and am very excited for them.
I was the crazy park lady taking pictures of the ducks. Her words, not mine! Too bad I don’t have a picture of my disguise:) I tried so hard to be sleuthy so she would not recognize me.
We are not quite sure what was going on here, but it is awesome!
Yep, it was for real this time! And she said yes.
This was the moment she realized that I was there, AND who I was. It was awesome! I got two thumbs up.
We grabbed a few more pictures before they headed off to her surprise birthday party. This boy knows how to make a girl feel special!
I adore these two. They really are this happy!
His grandmother’s ring, remounted in just her style.
Simple. Beautiful. Perfect.
Sometimes you do not need a little help from your friends, but you get it anyway.
Thank you Nathan for trusting me with this special moment.
I am very excited for your wedding and all that is yet to come.
Love you guys! xoxo ~Krista
