Haley + Jared | A Coast to Coast Wedding
I had the privilege to document a coast to coast wedding event. Haley is from Coos Bay, Oregon and Jared from Stuart, Florida. They met on the campus of Ocean’s Edge School of Worship in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Sparks soon flew. They both graduated and return to their hometowns. It was evident fairly quick that the 3,330 miles that now separated them would not break them up but bring them closer. They were thankful for the modern day luxuries of phones, texting, and face timing. Their relationship only grew stronger and it wasn’t long before Jared ‘popped’ the question and of course she said yes! Both coming from close knit families and close friends, they knew they had to include those who could not travel to Oregon for the Wedding. So, what do you do? Well, have a reception in Florida to celebrate with their family and friends there. As for me? I had the privilege of visiting the Pacific Northwest (a first for me) and then capturing their reception on my home turf. I am going to share way too many pictures on this one, but with a coast to coast wedding and reception, how can I not?
This ring was Jared’s grandmother’s, so beautiful and very special.
And just one more ring shot because, well, I love them!
I loved that her flower girl, aka little sister, came up and held her hand as the girls were buttoning up her dress. It was such a sweet moment.
Ummm, yes, these guys were having fun. And making fun of me I think.
Not your typical father son photo, lots of goofing around. But, make no mistake, there is lots of love between these two.
Always a favorite photo capturing a teary eyed groom. Yep, it gets me every time.
This was so funny. Notice the stool Haley’s dad had. He wanted to get on eye level with Jared.
Haley and Jared chose to have some praise and worship time at the beginning of their ceremony. I loved this. It is evident that they want Christ to be the center of their lives AND marriage. I love their faithfulness!
Haley wrote a beautiful song that her and Jared sang during the ceremony.
They finished up with having their first communion together as husband and wife. Their parents came up and prayed with them. It was such a beautiful and Christ honoring wedding.
Jared getting the thumbs up approval from Haley’s dad.
One of my favorites, a tearful bride dancing with her daddy.
And now, the Florida reception and celebration! The details were beautiful.
The bride and groom got another ‘first dance.’ I don’t think they minded.
Haley and Jared wanted to acknowledge some marriages that inspired them. And in a fun way! The couples (each of their parents, Jared’s great aunt and uncle and long time close friends of the family) celebrated marriage from 20+ years to 60+ years! Amazing! Each couple got to show Haley and Jared ‘how it is done.’ And they had the opportunity to duplicate it. I have never seen this done at a wedding, but it was sooooo much fun! And there was so much smooching. I guess that is what is takes to stick together for so long:))
It took a few moves, but Haley and Jared finally got their groove on.
The always entertaining shoe game never disappoints.
These guys rocked the dance floor ALL NIGHT! There was even a dance battle, little boys vs. the big boys.
Thank you so much Haley + Jared for the privilege of capturing your wedding day. I was honored to witness such love and devotion to our Savior and each other. I can not wait to see what God has for you both. I wish you many years of happiness and blessings! xoxo~Krista
